Arsenal target Barcelona starlet to improve defensive ranks

wengerrrArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern raised their pints in approval after they heard the latest piece of news concerning the club, which suggested the full-back positions in the squad could be secured for the next decade.

Sportwitness, reporting via A Bola, state that Arsenal are keeping tabs on Barcelona’s academy star Grimaldo as they aim to make him the next player to trade sunny Catalonia for North London.

Arsenal have prized Cesc Fabregas from the clutches of Barcelona previously and are currently enjoying the meteoric rise of Hector Bellerin, with the youngster becoming first-choice right-back for Arsene Wenger’s side.

Grimaldo, who like Bellerin is just 20-years-old, is highly-rated but is yet to get his chance in Barcelona’s first team. Should that continue, the left-back would likely seek an exit from the Nou Camp.

Arsenal also have a boost by the fact that Barcelona are in financial troubles and any incoming transfer business in January would have to be funded by outgoing deals, which could make Grimaldo available.

However, Arsenal will face competition from Benfica, Porto and Bayern Munich if the young talent was to become available.

Arsenal fans, would Grimaldo be the perfect recruit? Let us know in the comments below!
