Arsenal target reveals why he didn’t sign this summer

CavaniThroughout the summer Arsenal fans were throwing spreadsheets at our barmaids and declaring that Edinson Cavani was the man to end the Gunners long wait for the Premier League title.

One major problem with that whole tirade was that Paris Saint-Germain, Cavani’s employers, didn’t actually want to part ways with the Uruguayan. Which is a bit like saying our pints are greatly priced at £2 each, when in fact they cost an arm and leg.

Quoted by The Daily Express, Cavani didn’t seem to rule out a Premier League switch but only if the situation was different, as his preference was always to remain with the French champions.

“In football, there are a lot of things that depend not on the footballer but on the club,”

Cavani had previously complained that he was forced to play out-wide, with chances in the middle limited due to a certain Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

PSG’s decision to keep the South American has proved valuable though, as he’s assisted to their unbeaten start in all competitions with six goals in the opening eight Ligue 1 fixtures.

Arsenal fans, should Arsene Wenger have gone all out to secure this hitman during the summer? Let us know below in the comments!
