There has been plenty of talk inside the Football Transfer Tavern regarding a potential summer spending spree for Arsenal, and sources at the Daily Mirror have revealed one potential target would jump at the opportunity to move to the Emirates Stadium.
Senegal international defender Cheikhou Kouyate has been attracting interest from the Gunners for some time, and now the Anderlecht man has admitted a move to Arsene Wenger’s side would be a ‘dream’.
The 23-year-old – who is also able to operate in midfield – is rated at around £5 million, and would be considered a decent signing considering Arsenal have a reported £70 million to spend in the summer.
French giants Paris Saint-Germain have also registered an interest, although it seems Kouyate has his heart set on a move to London over Paris.
He told a Belgian newspaper: “I am happy here but if Arsenal called me to go to London I would have no doubt about going.
“I hear they have asked for some information on me from the last few months.”
Arsene Wenger has reportedly lined up several transfer targets for the summer window.
The likes of Mario Gotze, Stevan Jovetic, Victor Valdes and Etienne Capoue have all been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, as Wenger hopes to avoid a ninth consecutive season without a trophy.
