Arsenal target will only be sold for big money

juliocesar.jpgThere is potentially bad news for Arsenal fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern as it is claimed by Touchline Talk that the club will have to pay big to land QPR’s Julio Cesar this summer.

This week in the tavern we had been discussing that the club were eying a £5 million move for the Brazilian international who is now desperate to leave the Loftus Road club ahead of playing in the Championship next season and Harry Redknapp has made it perfectly clear that it will cost more than the aforementioned figure for Arsene Wenger to lure the experienced custoadian to the Emirates Stadium.

He noted: “He wants to go to Arsenal? Arsene Wenger will be here tomorrow, if he’s interested, I’m sure he’ll speak to me.

“He’s a top, top goalkeeper – there’s no doubt about that. He’s a Brazil international so for him to play in the Championship next year would be difficult.”

Redknapp continued: “I can understand that – but he’s a good goalkeeper. It would take a good offer.

“How this game works is you buy players and those who don’t do well, you’re stuck with them but those who do well, they think they’ll walk away for nothing.

“You’ve got to get what you feel is value for him. He’s going to cost decent money if anyone wants to buy him.”

Will Arsenal spend more than £5m on luring Cesar to the Emirates? Rate this rumour below.
