Arsenal will meet Sporting Lisbon at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night as they look to book their place in the next round of the Europa League.
The Gunners are unbeaten in the group so far and will know that if they better the result of Vorskla Poltava, they will then progress into the next stage.
Unai Emery’s side have been impressive this season under his guidance, as he has only seen his team lose twice all year and their performance against Liverpool at the weekend extended their unbeaten run to 14 games across all competitions.
Both Nacho Monreal and Sokratis Papastathopoulos could be available to Emery for the game against Sporting.
The pair will need to be assessed before the game as they make their returns from hamstring and ankle concerns respectively.
However, the game has come too quickly for Mohamed Elneny, as he still remains a week away from training with a thigh injury.
Monreal and Sokratis’ availabilities will be a huge and welcomed boost for Emery and his side as they prepare to face Sporting on Thursday.
The Spaniard is not shy of changing his squad for the Europa League matches and could look to use the duo after his players were involved in a tough test against Liverpool at the weekend.
Knowing that they could gain qualification for the next stage, Emery could also look to involve some of his other players with rare chances as they have a tricky home encounter against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday.
