Arsenal will be preparing to face Vorskla Poltava in Kiev on Thursday night as they continue their Europa League campaign.
The match has been moved from the host’s usual ground to the capital because of security fears and has been put into further doubt of going ahead as the Ukrainians have said that they may not be able to play.
The Gunners are already through to the next round of the European competition and Unai Emery has decided to take a number of youngsters with him for the trip to the Far East.
The likes of Charlie Gilmour, Zech Medley, Dejan Iliev, Jordi Osei-Tutu, Dominic Thompson, Tyreece John-Jules and Bukayo Saka are all involved, whilst Eddie Nketiah, Emile Smith Rowe and Chris Willock are also in the squad.
With Arsenal already through, it looks as though Emery was planning to use this as an opportunity for a number of the academy players to make an impression.
It would appear that the Spaniard would have a mixed wealth of experience on the field, with Lichtsteiner, who is valued at £1.35million by Transfermarkt, also getting the chance to get some match minutes under his belt after returning from injury.
Whether the game goes ahead remains to be seen, but if it does, Emery will want to see his side take all three points from Kiev.
