Arsenal team news: Emery potentially without quartet for Blackpool trip

Arsenal will turn their attention to the FA Cup this weekend when they meet Blackpool at Bloomfield Road.

The Gunners returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a comprehensive 4-1 victory against Fulham following their poor performance against Liverpool.

Unai Emery will want to see his side progress to the next round of the FA Cup as it is one of their best chances of winning silverware this season.

However, according to a match preview by the club’s official website, it appears he could be without a number of his players for the trip north.

Mesut Ozil, Shkodran Mustafi, Nacho Monreal and Hector Bellerin will all need to be assessed ahead of the game with Blackpool.

Mustafi had to be withdrawn from the action against Fulham at half-time with a minor hamstring issue and is considered a doubt for the match with The Tangerines.

The Verdict:

Emery will be keen to see his side overcome the challenge of Blackpool as they look to try and progress in the competition.

However, with the likes of Ozil, Mustafi, Monreal and Bellerin all potentially missing, the tie could become trickier than it should be.

The quartet have all been on the sidelines with different injuries, however, it is unlikely that they will be rushed back for their third round Cup tie, especially with a London Derby against West Ham United at the weekend.
