Arsenal team news: Unai Emery without a number of stars

Arsenal will be looking to get their second win of their Europa League campaign this season when they head to Azerbaijan to face Qarabag FK on Thursday night.

Unai Emery’s side recorded a comfortable win against Vorskla Poltava and will be looking for his team to continue their good form against the Azeri outfit.

The Spaniard knows the competition well, having won it three times in a row during his time at Sevilla and will be looking to add the trophy to his accomplishments at Arsenal.

However, according to a match preview by BBC Sport, the Gunners will be without a number of their key players for the game that could cause them problems.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan did not travel with the squad amid political concerns, whilst Aaron Ramsey has decided to remain at home with his wife due to give birth.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is not included as he looks to recover from illness, whilst Petr Cech, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Laurent Koscielny and Konstantinos Mavropanos are all unavailable through injury.

The Verdict:

Arsenal will be feeling confident that they can get a result against Qarabag on Thursday night but will be wary of the challenge they possess.

Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan will both be misses for the Gunners, however, they will still have a strong squad available to use on the night.

The likes of Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette will both feature and should help to give Arsenal the three points and look to remain top of the group.
