There are wide smiles on Arsenal supporters’ faces in the Football Transfer Tavern today after London Evening Standard suggests that Arsenal are considering an £23 million offer to activate Marouane Fellaini’s release clause at Everton.
The Gunners punters in the tavern are already confident of landing Real Madrid forward Gonzalo Higuain in a record £23 million deal in the next few days and with a striker all but secured it appears that Arsene Wenger will now turn his attentions to other parts of his squad.
The French boss has been a long-term admirer of the Belgian international who would add versatility to the Emirates Stadium outfit with the ability to play in midfield or as a forward.
The 25-year-old is reportedly keen to leave Goodison Park as he seeks Champions League football for the new season and a move to North London would be an attractive option.
With the release clause set in Felliani’s contract it is likely that Arsenal will face competition for his signature with former Toffees boss David Moyes desperate to bring the powerful midfielder to Old Trafford this summer.
