Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have already lost Thomas Vermaelen this week and there could be more departures coming soon.
That’s because according to the Daily Express, Turkish giants Galatasaray have enquired about the availability of Arsenal attacking pair Joel Campbell and Lukas Podolski.
And reports suggest that the Turkish champions have already sent out representatives to speak to the North London club.
Costa Rican international striker Campbell made a surprise impression during this summer’s World Cup and it is thought that an £8 million transfer fee could be enough to tempt Arsene Wenger’s into selling.
But the Turkish Super Lig club are also keen on Podolski and Wenger’s is likely to be interested in cashing in should they match his steep £20 million price tag.
It would mean new Gala boss Cesare Prandelli would need to smash his sides’ current £16.5 million transfer record to land the German but funds are available as they look to replace the departed Didier Drogba.
Arsenal fans. Arsene Wenger would be a miracle worker if he could receive such a high fee for Podolski, wouldn’t he? Let us know your thoughts below.
