According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners have began talks with Dinamo Zagreb over the signing of Marcelo Brozovic and to add to the competition, Inter Milan have already offered £3.5 million for the Croatian midfielder which is well short of Zagreb’s valuation of the player.
Despite heavy interest from the Italian giants, punters in the tavern have been quick to reassure Arsenal fans that the player’s representative is keen for talks with the North London club.
And it is believed Wenger will blow the competition out of the water and pay £6.4 million for the 21-year-old as he looks to hold the upper hand over Inter.
Formal talks are believed to commence in November when he is set to play for Croatia against USA at Craven Cottage but it is understood that there were already brief negotiations this Thursday.
Brozovic is a versatile midfielder who is most influential when played as a deep lying midfielder and his young age will be music to Arsenal fans’ ears.
Gooners have had to settle for elder players performing in this position – the likes of Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini – who have both been criticised this term with pundits arguing that they cannot keep up with the pace of the Premier League.
