Arsenal fans are looking pleased here in the Football Transfer Tavern after Metroclaimed that the club are finally set to land QPR’s Julio Cesar.
The player has agreed personal terms with the club and is set to join on a two-year deal with a fee set to be agreed with Queens Park Rangers as soon as possible. Wenger has of course long been in the hunt for a keeper and after looking at several players and indeed being turned down by a host of others it now seems that the Frenchman is finally going to get someone he wants to join the club and for the right price.
A major lure from the point of Wenger is the price of Cesar who will not cost more than £5 million – freeing the rest of his £70 million transfer kitty for other players including Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic who will cost at least £25 million.
Cesar has made it perfectly clear he does not want to stay at Loftus Road and play Championship football and considering he has won just about everything during his career that is no shock really.
