Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is set to stun the Football Transfer Tavern this winter when he makes a move for Everton right back Seamus Coleman, according to the Sunday Mirror.
Coleman has been in fine form for the Toffees this season and can play at left back or right back as well as in midfield.
Wenger is making plans for a new right back after struggling to agree a new deal with current first choice Bacary Sagna who is out of contract in the summer.
Sagna is one of the longest serving players current at the Emirates Stadium but if a new deal cannot be agreed then the Frenchman may look for a move in January, with a switch to Paris Saint-Germain or Monaco on the radar.
Current second choice right back Carl Jenkinson has not put a foot wrong in Sagna’s absence in recent weeks but Coleman would come in as first choice after his recent performances for Everton.
It may cost the Gunners more than £10 million to lure Everton into a deal but Wenger has a sizeable transfer kitty to use this winter.
