Laughter is not the word for Manchester United fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern after the latest claim from Caught Offside.
The publication seem to think that Arsenal are about to make an £18 million bid for one of the flops of the season – Marouane Fellani.
The former Everton player has of course been an utter disaster since his move to Old Trafford and now that ex-Red Devils manager David Moyes is no more, we think that Fellaini will soon be following Moyes out of the exit door.
One of our punters pauses from drinking his pint to make the point that an £18 million bid would mean a £10 million loss for the Red Devils, but United fans by the bar do not seem to be all that bothered.
Not only that but Fellaini certainly offers something that Arsenal do not currently have and Gunners fans seem apprehensive albeit intrigued by the prospect of landing the Belgian outcast.
If he could recreate the form shown at Everton, Fellaini would certainly be a good buy but of course the danger is that he will just look rather lost in a squad that doesn’t play to his strengths, replicating his time spent at Old Trafford thus far.
Is there as much chance of this transfer happening as is the tavern selling water instead of alcohol for the foreseeable future?
