There is little shock here in the Football Transfer Tavern as it is claimed by Metro that Julio Cesar is on his way out of Queens Park Rangers potentially moving across London to Arsenal.
After moving to the Loftus Road, Cesar clearly did not envisage the R’s freefalling towards relegation and now has already claimed via his agent that he will be leaving the club in the summer. For a player who has been capped countless times by Brazil not to mention winning everything there is to win at Inter Milan, playing in the Championship is out of the question for the experienced custoadian.
Now it seems that Arsenal and Arsene Wenger may consider a move for the player and it is well known that he is looking for a keeper this summer following a shaky season from Wojciech Szczesny. Cesar would be allowed to leave QPR for around £5 million and that would certainly be a brilliant price for a keeper possessing such quality. The players agent claimed that: “I’m coming to Europe to talk to Julio about the future. He is looking for a new team with potential.”
“Going back to Brazil? I don’t think so – I see him having a future in Europe.”
Arsenal will face competition from AC Milan for the player but it is thought Cesar is keen to stay in London – giving Wenger the upper hand in this particular transfer battle
