Arsenal to rival Man City for in-demand forward, any successful deal could reach £75 million

Both the Man City and Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for a busy transfer window this summer…

Both clubs have severely disappointed this season, and whilst Man City are still expected to pose a title challenge to Chelsea – for many, the writing is on the wall.

Antonio Conte’s side look set to seal the title at the end of the season, and given that most in the Transfer Tavern were expecting Man City to run away with the title – it has certainly been a disappointing season for Pep Guardiola.

Likewise, Arsenal have failed to build upon their season last year – with Arsene Wenger’s future looking uncertain.

It will come as no surprise, then, to learn that both sides are already considering their options for the summer transfer window – but it would appear as though both sides are going to have to fight it out for one player.

According to the Independent, Man City and Arsenal are amongst the clubs keen on Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe – with Monaco rating the forward at around £75 million.

Mbappe is, undoubtedly, one of Europe’s most exciting players – and so the news that both clubs is keen on him has been received well in the Transfer Tavern.

He has made 26 appearances so far this season, and has scored 12 times and assisted 5 times in the process.
