We at the Football Transfer Tavern were excited to hear that Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain could be on his way to the Premier League with Arsenal and Manchester City joining Tottenham in the battle for his signature according to the Daily Mail.
Spurs were turned down by Madrid with an audacious bid for the Argentinean last summer but they are set to reignite their interest after the Spanish club confirmed the striker is set to leave.
Arsenal and Manchester City are also interested in bringing the 25-year-old to England with the Gunners desperate to add more goals to their side after the sub-par seasons that new boys Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski have endured.
City have heard good things about the striker from fellow countrymen Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero and much like Arsenal, the goals have dried up this season for the last years Premier League champions.
“In a great club like Real, we believe we need two number nines of a high level,” Real Madrid general manager Jose Angel Sanchez said
“We have Benzema and Higuain, Higuain will leave, Benzema will stay and two others will come.”
Who is Higuain more likely to join this summer? Arsenal, Tottenham or City? Rate this rumour below.
