Arsenal to up the ante in transfer pursuit

higuain.jpgWe at the Football Transfer Tavern are keen to see the best players in the world come to the Premier League and Arsenal seem to be upping the ante in their pursuit of Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Higuain according to the Guardian.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is prepared to break the bank in order to sign Higuain who guarantees goals to a side like Arsenal who create numerous chances in every game without always putting them away.

Arsenal have failed to replace the goals of Robin van Persie who left for Manchester United 12 months ago and so a striker is once again the main target for Wenger.

Real Madrid want £25 million for their main centre forward as they look to appoint a new manager to replace Jose Mourinho this week.

The Gunners however feel that £15 million will be enough to sign the Argentinian this summer despite having a budget of over £50 million this summer.

Will the Gunners get their man before the start of the 2013/14 campaign? Let us know your thoughts below.
