Arsenal have been handed a blow this evening as it has been claimed by Metro that one of their transfer targets is not for sale.
The Gunners have been chasing highly rated Fiorentina midfielder Juan Cuadrado in recent months and were hopeful of bringing the 25-year-old Colombian star to the Emirates Stadium in January.
Fiorentina, however, have other ideas and have come out to declare that the player will not be leaving the Serie A without a serious fight with the player happy to stay at the Stadio Artemi Franchi.
Club president Andrea Della Valle stated: “We will try to do everything possible to keep him in Florence.
“Cuadrado we want you to stay here for a long time and have fun as you are doing now.
“This team has the pride of wearing the purple shirt. It is a cycle of great guys in a very tight dressing room – being with them gives you joy.”
The winger, who has collected 25 caps for his country, has previously confirmed a desire to remain with the Serie A club, but with Arsenal closely following his progress, there are concerns in Italy that his head could be turned by the interest from England.
Juventus, Barcelona and Bayern Munich have also all been credited with an interest in Cuadrado.
