Arsenal and Tottenham supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern have been left on tenterhooks after Corinthians revealed they are willing to listen to offers for striker Alexandre Pato.
The Daily Star report that the 24-year-old forward may be allow to leave his native country and his club have confirmed that he could leave if a substantial offer comes in from either North London side.
Corinthians director Roberto de Andrade stated: “Given his value, I think it is difficult for him to move to another Brazilian club.
“If the two clubs [Arsenal and Tottenham] are interested in Pato we do not exclude to sell him during the winter transfer market.”
The Brazilian international is thought to be looking for a fresh start in Europe after spending six years at AC Milan before returning to Brazil in January.
Arsenal and Spurs are looking at the prolific front man when the transfer window opens in January with both clubs looking to add to their strikeforce in the New Year.
The Gunners are thought to be leading the chase as Wenger tries to add a top class striker in January with just Nicklas Bendtner and Yaya Sanogo the only real back up to the excellent Olivier Giroud.
It was earlier confirmed in the tavern that Pato had rejected a chance to join Andre Villas-Boas’ Spurs side in the summer but the White Hart Lane club could move again for Pato and he could battle Wenger for his signature.
