Arsenal & Tottenham target bound for Premier League

davidvilla.jpgJohn Cross from the Daily Mirror is a regular in the Football Transfer Tavern and today the popular journalist has arrived with news that has pleased all in the tavern.

Cross confirms to punters that Barcelona striker David Villa is definitely coming to the Premier League this summer, with Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool all ready to swoop for the Spanish international.

The 31-year-old has informed his advisers that he wants to move to the Premier League and reportedly has now been given the go-ahead to leave the Spain club this summer as he searches first team football in what will be a World Cup year.

£12 million is the asking price for the former Valencia man who has fallen even further behind the pecking order after the arrival of Brazilian superstar Neymar from Santos.

Arsenal have the benefit of offering him Champions League next season but Wenger is thought to be considering younger targets. This could see Villa ending up at White Hart Lane with Andre Villas-Boas known to be personally interested. Liverpool are another option with the expected departure of Luis Suarez but without any European football next year it looks unlikely.
