Yet again here in the Football Transfer Tavern, Arsenal have been linked to a goalkeeper and according to talkSPORT they are rather serious about this one.
Arsene Wenger has as we all know by now lost patience in his current number one Wojciech Szczesny and is looking elsewhere. As one of our punters quips, he has been linked with just about every keeper who is half decent on the planet and only this week we were linking the club to Pepe Reina.
Now it is claimed that the Frenchman is eyeing the Uruguayan number one Fernando Muslera who is currently at Galatasary. The 26 year old stopped has joined the long list of potential candidates for the North London side and given the embarrassment surrounding the outburst from Szczesny’s father over his son’s current situation, it would come as little surprise to a great deal of people if the Polish keeper was off loaded in the summer.
Muslera has already opened the door when it comes to a move, claiming that it would be a ‘dream’ to move to England and the Premier League yet there could be resistance. The Turkish club are determined to keep their top players and after acquiring Didier Drogba and Wesley Sneijder the club are looking forward not back as their president Unal Aysal claimed until the Champions League is won, their top players are going nowhere. Given they are playing Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid in the next couple of weeks, a move may well have to wait for a while.
