It has happened with Samir Nasri, Robin van Persie, Gael Clichy and most recently Bacary Sagna.
It is also expected to happen with Belgian international Thomas Vermaelen who is set for the exit doors.
But according to Metro, Arsene Wenger fancies being the buyer rather than the seller for a change and has his eye on a bid for Manchester City’s Serbian international defender Matija Nastasic.
Wenger revealed last week that he fully expects Thomas Vermaelen to leave the club for Manchester United and Nastasic is seen as a vital part of the rebuild.
Now the Frenchman is apparently weighing up a £16 million bid for the defender who has progressed impressively at the Etihad Stadium since the switch from Fiorentina.
The Citizens are reportedly open to selling the 21-year old who struggled last season with injury but Arsenal could face a fight for him.
Italian side Roma are also keen on signing the youngster as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of their Champions League campaign.
