Arsenal will have to shell out £20m for Ivory Coast international

Wilfried Bony Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern look set to welcome a new striker to the Emirates Stadium this summer and Wilfried Bony is the latest name to be rumoured.

According to The Mirror, Swansea City have slapped a £20 million transfer fee on the Ivory Coast striker’s head after making an impressive start to life in England.

Bony has scored 15 league goals this season as part of a Swansea side that has struggled at times this season.

He joined in a £12 million deal from Dutch outfit Vitesse Arnhem and the Swans believe that only a deal worth  £20 million plus would be sufficient enough for them to part with their star striker.

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has found himself without much help in attack this season following the injury to last season’s top scorer Theo Walcott.

Nicklas Bendtner has been largely ineffective as usual this season and the less said about Yaya Sanogo the better. The locals in the bar certainly agree with that opinion.

There’s no doubt that Arsene Wenger is going to need to start to opening his chequebook more regularly if his Arsenal side is to compete for the Premier League title next season.

But he may face a fight from several other clubs including Everton who are preparing for life without Romelu Lukaku.

What do you think Arsenal. Is Wilfred Bony the man to fire you to a Premier League title or should you be looking at players at the level of Diego Costa? Let us know your thoughts below.
