Arsenal would be wise to swoop for this 22-year-old central defender with massive potential

The Arsenal supporting punters here in the Football Transfer Tavern are extremely hopeful that the club will spend big this summer as the club tries to propel itself back to the forefront of English football.

Arsene Wenger will continue in the role of manager after penning a two-year contract earlier this week and the pretty disgruntled group of Gunners here in the Tavern are hopeful that he can now sign a glut of top class players to try and force back into the top four.

A lack of Champions League football at the Emirates Stadium next season could make summer signings a little bit more tricky but there is little doubt that the French manager will be going all out to try and compete for the Europa League crown.

One defender who should be on Wenger’s transfer radar is Athletic Bilbao man Yeray Alvarez who has been in fine form for the La Liga outfit over the past campaign.

The Spanish prospect fits the bill of a Wenger recruit in that he is young and has massive potential to get even better. At 22-years-old he would represent a good signing, albeit one that wouldn’t really come to fruition for a couple of seasons.

A couple of Arsenal fans are having a pint with the landlord here in the Tavern and they are of the belief that Alvarez would be a good signing for the club, stating that the Gunners could do with some younger legs at the heart of the back four.

Arsenal fans, would you welcome Alvarez? What do you know about the Spaniard? Let us know in the comments below!!!
