Gunners’ fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern may well be about to get some big news regarding one of their top targets. News that could end the persistent ridiculing of the ‘nearly boys’ of the transfer market.
According to sensational reports from Algeria, one of the most sought after players this summer has agreed to a move to The Emirates after meeting with Gunners’ boss, Arsene Wenger.
Algerian newspaper, Le Butuer, are claiming that Le Prof has met with Leicester City’s star man Riyad Mahrez and his agent to discuss a move to North London.
Not only have they reportedly met, the PFA Player of the Year for last season has also agreed to join the Gunners ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
The Algerian international has been the subject of plenty of interest this summer off the back of his title winning antics last summer and has been linked with a £45m move to Arsenal.
However, our ever sceptical Landlord isn’t sure how reliable these reports are and is warning the Gooners here in the Tavern not to get ahead of themselves.
Gunners fans, we want to hear from you! How true do you think these reports are? How big of a boost would signing Mahrez be? Let us know below…
