Everton boss David Moyes has listed want-away Arsenal striker, Nicklas Bendtner as his number one target and is hopeful of taking the Dane to Goodison on a season long loan.
The frustrated front man has spent six seasons under contract in North London and is now desperate to lead the line elsewhere and fill the potential he certainly boasts.
Season, after season… well after season Bendtner must feel he can’t do right for doing wrong.
He has done all he can to attempt to weave himself into Arsene Wenger’s plans, and into the fans good books. Despite 45 goals in 152 appearances plus sacrificing his favoured position down the middle and being placed out wide time after time, he has failed to cement a regular position in the starting 11.
With funds unavailable to bring in the quality needed, plus lacking ammunition up top Bendtner could be the answer to Davie Moyes problems.
This could be the perfect short term solution for the toffees, as they look to add to their squad without being forced to offload prised assets, such as Leighton Baines and Jack Rodwell to do so.
On the other hand, I believe the 6ft 5” Danish International would prefer to cut all strings tying him to the Emirates, and will look to establish himself elsewhere with a fresh challenge.
The option to depart English football is set to be a possibility, as Sky Sports has reported Sporting and Hamburg are showing interest in taking the Arsenal star under their wing.
I think as the gunners look to freshen up their squad they will flog Bendtner and wave him off as he grasps a new opportunity, more than likely abroad.
So fortunately… or unfortunately, however you Evertonions feel about it… it seems highly unlikely that this rumour will amount to anything more than pointless speculation.
