Yaya Sanogo is a bit of an on-running joke among Arsenal fans, and the wider footballing community.
Signed as a youngster by Arsene Wenger, the eight-time France U-21 international was expected to develop into a useful first-team player for the Gunners, but his career has never really got going with loan moves to Ajax, Crystal Palace and Charlton Athletic not enough to kick-start his journey.
Back in the Arsenal fold this term and seemingly heading towards the exit in the not too distant future, the 24-year-old is playing his football for the Londoners’ U-23s and he grabbed headlines this afternoon with a hat-trick as they beat Reading 5-2.

Any Sanogo news is pounced upon by Gunners supporters, so they have had a field day with the above tweet from their club’s official account.
From tongue in cheek jokes about replacing Alexis Sanchez through to slating the forward for his lack of footballing ability, there were some excellent responses…

@Arsenal I assume Readings under 23s coach was delayed by several hours and they weren’t actually on the pitch yet?
