Arsenal have enjoyed a couple of positive results recently but started the current campaign in the worst possible way.
The Gunners are heading in the right direction after securing all three points against Cardiff City and West Ham United in recent times. Indeed, Unai Emery appears to have found the winning formula at the Emirates after a rather nervy start to life in the Premier League.
It’s important that the Spaniard can identify his best XI and that they can consistently produce results, with a number of sides fighting for a top four spot.
Therefore, in an ideal world where injuries aren’t a problem and the race for the top four is hotting up, here’s an idea of what Emery’s amazing XI should look like…
ARSENAL’S AMAZING XI
We’ve gone with a 4-2-3-1 formation, as that is the formation that Emery has looked to make use of so far this season with the attacking three often putting in the match-winning performances.
Petr Cech has always been able to ensure consistency in-between the sticks for the Gunners, with Bernd Leno left to stagnate behind the scenes at the Emirates.
Arsenal have kept the same defensive pairing for the large majority of the current campaign in the form of Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis Papastathopoulos. Indeed, Nacho Monreal has been in inspired form down the left-hand side of the defence, while Hector Bellerin has shown improvements in recent matches.
In midfield, Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira will be desperate to keep things tight and ensure solidity in the middle of midfield after witnessing Granit Xhaka’s inconsistencies.
Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will be tasked with supporting the lone striker, getting balls into the box and linking play in the final third.
Lastly, Alexandre Lacazette managed to score the winning goal against Cardiff City last time out, so he should be tasked with leading the line for the large majority of the campaign.
