The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been slating their club’s German centre-back Shkodran Mustafi, calling for the club to sell the player in response to the club wishing Mustafi a Happy Birthday. The German international has been one of Arsenal’s below par performers this season leading to a number of Arsenal fans to call for his head.

As a professional footballer, it must never be nice seeing your own club’s fans calling for your head. It must be even worse on your birthday. That’s what German international and former Valencia centre-back, Shkodran Mustafi has had to deal with today though, the defender turns 26 today and as Arsenal sent him the usual Happy Birthday message, the club’s fans have latched on to it and started calling for the club to sell the defender in the summer.
Mustafi, who has both World Cup and Confederations Cup winners medals in his trophy cabinet, has been in and out of an abysmal Arsenal team this season. Arsene Wenger’s defensive line has come under criticism as a whole and individually for a catalogue of errors this season. Alongside Calum Chambers and Hector Bellerin, Mustafi has taken the most criticism as he looks to be trying his hardest to be shipped out of The Emirates this season. Whilst the Arsenal fans won’t want their defender to take anything personally on his birthday, their stance on the German internationals future is clear.

Now that you are 26, please defend like an adult like you did in your 1st 21 games for us
And have a nice birthday too
