Arsenal transfer target Adrien Rabiot can replace Granit Xhaka in the north London club’s central midfield if they ever decide to sell the Switzerland international.
As per Le 10 Sport, the Gunners and Everton have been on the chase for Rabiot, who reportedly remains very popular among some Premier League clubs. The reports also claims that the two English clubs have already started negotiations.
This could be the right time for the Gunners to pounce as any fee that Juve potentially get for him would be a profit for them, while Rabiot would arguably fit well in Mikel Arteta’s set up at the moment.
As a left-footed deep-lying midfielder, the 25-year old arguably possesses a lot of qualities that Xhaka has, and in some areas he has even outperformed the Swiss international this season. Rabiot averages more interceptions, shots and dribbles per league game so far, and also has a higher passing success percentage, according to Whoscored.
Who would you rather have in your midfield?
However, the £22.95m-valued ace may need a route out of Italy based off a remarkable stat whereby he has failed to score or assist in 24 matches in all competitions so far this campaign (via Transfermarkt).
As a player in the middle of the park, Rabiot could thrive in Arteta’s system and, being two years younger than Xhaka, the French international has more years ahead of him to develop as a footballer.
