Arsenal and Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern have both admitted they’re disappointed with their campaigns this season, as they expect major changes this summer to make their side more competitive.
Both Premier League sides face a battle to finish in the top-four and qualify for the Champions League this season, although Pep Guardiola’s side currently hold the advantage as they occupy fourth spot – with Arsenal six points behind, although they have a game in hand.
Come the summer, Arsenal and the Citizens will both be looking to capture big names and Italian outlet Sport Mediaset indicate they’re both keeping tabs on Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho.
The Euro 2016 winner has long been linked with a move to the Premier League and The Daily Express states Tony Pulis’ West Brom are also interested, although the Baggies would struggle to compete in the market if Arsenal and City made a move.
A powerful midfielder, 25-year-old Carvalho is considered to be the ideal replacement for Yaya Toure at Manchester City but our landlord believes West Brom may win the chase, as he believes the other two Premier League sides will eye bigger names.
