Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern are preparing to take their rivalry into the transfer market, after indications both sides were seeking the same midfield signing.
The Guardian reports that both North London sides have been keeping tabs on £20m-rated OGN Nice midfielder Jean Michel Seri ahead of the summer window, although they’ll face competition for his signature from Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona.
25-year-old Ivorian international has excelled for Nice this season, helping the club seal a spot in the Champions League qualifiers next season, and has an impressive return of six goals and nine assists in the Ligue 1 campaign.
With two-years remaining on his contract, Nice face a fight to keep hold of the Ivorian and scouts from both Premier League sides have watched the midfielder regularly this season as they consider making an approach this summer.
Seri has a release-clause of £33m but Nice will reportedly be open to a sale if a fee of £20m if offered, which our landlord believes is pennies for both North London sides.
Who would Seri be better off joining, Arsenal or Spurs? Let us know in the comments below!
