Manchester City's easy defeat of Arsenal should show the club's hierarchy that summer signings are desperately needed. Indeed, despite a myriad of links over the course of the January window, the Gunners remained largely inactive and those in North London will be eager to improve next term.

Barcelona outcast Denis Suarez has moved to the Emirates, though it's unclear as to whether the former City youngster will stick around in the summer. With Aaron Ramsey most likely leaving at the end of the campaign too, Arsenal's midfield is at a crossroads.

One man he should have targeted - and must do in the summer - is Monaco maestro – Youri Tielemans. Valued at £16.2m by Transfermarkt, the Belgian international emerged as one of Europe’s biggest talents after breaking into the Anderlecht first-team at the age of 18. The youngster earned his big move to Europe in 2017, joining his current employers for £23m.

However, Monaco’s fortunes have taken a turn for the worse this season, occupying the relegation places in Ligue 1 – Tielemans could be tempted to jump ship. The 21-year-old can play in a variety of roles including defensive and centre midfield as well as a more advanced attacking position. Tielemans has the potential to develop into one of the finest midfielders in the country, working with a world-class coach like Emery could do wonders for his development.

Seeing how he develops at Leicester should prompt the Spaniard into a summer move, where he could relaunch his career as one of the top European prospects around.
