Arsenal ‘anxious’ over deal, reportedly even willing to enter loan arrangement

With the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern waxing poetic about the performances of both Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac during their Community Shield win over Chelsea, attentions are turning on exactly who need to sell.

Indeed, the Gunners are reportedly looking to trim some of the fat from their squad before pursuing new targets and our north London locals hope their clear-out is done both quickly and efficiently.

So, reports from the Daily Mirror have excited our local Gooners in that regard. They claim Emirates outcast Carl Jenkinson is of interest to Swansea City this summer, with Arsene Wenger aiming to sell the 25-year-old.

The Swans are believed to have previously held an interest in the former Charlton youngster, who has a cap for England, and while a sale seems to be preferred, Arsenal could reportedly be open to a loan move.

Jenkinson has spent two seasons on loan with West Ham during his time on their books and the club are said to be anxious to get him out quickly as they look to bring in their own players.

Having failed to convince at all during his time with Arsenal, our locals hope Jenkinson is cleared out quickly.

Landlord’s Verdict:

Even if Arsenal can find an agreement where Swansea – or another interested party – pay most/all of his wages, they should take any chance to get Jenkinson out.

While he may be to do a solid job for another top flight side, he surely has no future in north London and both he and his employers need a new chapter.
