With the international break giving the Premier League a rest, the punters in the Transfer Tavern are scouring the net for rumours and reports.
For the Arsenal and Manchester City fans in this evening, they’ve been greeted to quite the transfer tidbit from the Sun.
They claim the Premier League giants are keen on Celtic sensation Kieran Tierney in an effort to bolster their defensive ranks.
The 19-year-old has emerged as one of the most promising left-backs in Europe for the Scottish champions, at a time when the market represents such a dearth of top quality options.
Despite penning a new deal with the Hoops in the summer, the Scottish international is said to have been the subject of a scouting mission from both sides south of the border.
City chief Pep Guardiola is understood to have been impressed with his performance, with the player’s surging run having set up Raheem Sterling’s own goal.
“Pep was impressed by Tierney’s non-stop running and refusal to hide on the night”, said an Etihad source.
“City have built close links with Celtic in recent years with Patrick Roberts currently on loan there this season.”
How far will Tierney go in the game? Let us know below…
