Arsenal boss in talks with £40m ideal Vardy alternative, Wenger considers colossal striker bid

Alexandre Lacazette

Arsenal’s attempts to land a new striker this summer have had the Gunners in the Transfer Tavern scouring the web for rumours and reports.

Jamie Vardy’s snub has to be put behind them (though the Spurs supporting punters are doing their best not to let their rivals forget that one in a hurry), as Arsene Wenger plots what could prove to be one last title tilt.

With that in mind, the Daily Telegraph claims the Frenchman has met with the representatives of Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette ahead of a potential summer swoop.

The Les Blues hitman has been linked with moves to both West Ham United and Liverpool recently, though the Hammers are believed to have seen a massive bid for the 25-year old snubbed.

Paris Saint-Germain are said to be interested, though it is apparently unlikely the France star will opt to play for another Ligue 1 side, having grown up with Les Gones.

The deal could cost up to £40m, making him one of Arsenal’s most expensive ever transfers, should it come to fruition.

Is Lacazette really worth £40m?!
