The hunt for Aaron Ramsey’s replacement is intensifying with every passing day, with more and more names being linked with a move to Arsenal.

Replacing the Welsh international is high on Arsenal’s priority list for the summer, and with such an important void having to be filled, Unai Emery has to be certain he signs the right man for the job, and an enticing name has popped up.

According to Portuguese outlet O Jogo, Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes is being monitored by Arsenal, as well as a whole host of European teams, and the 24-year-old could be the man to replace Ramsey in north London.

Fernandes has been one of the best players in Portugal this season, scoring 28 goals and assisting 15 in all competitions for Sporting and helping the team to Europa League qualification following a summer where many of their top names left the club due to off-the-field problems.

Normally playing in the number 10 role but able to play a number of positions, Fernandes has made a name for himself as one of the best goal-scoring midfielders in Europe, building a reputation of being able to score spectacular goals whilst also being a big team player for Sporting, something that has won him the captain’s armband this season.

With what Emery wants from a replacement for Ramsey, Fernandes is a player that ticks all the boxes. At 24, he has room to grow and adapt to the Spaniard's way of football, and his record in both Portugal and Italy make him someone who could settle to life in England with ease.

Replacing Ramsey will be hard, but with Fernandes, Arsenal will have a player who can fill the Welshman’s shoes well and succeed in north London.

Arsenal fans, would Fernandes be your first choice for Ramsey's replacement? Let us know!
