Arsenal cleared to seal record-breaking £52m World Cup winner deal imminently, star keen to switch

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have both often and loudly told the rest of the punters propping up the bar how they suffer from deja vu.

Every season, the Gunners seem to be linked with the same names only to not sign a striker and then watch what had promised to be a promising title tilt crash and burn during the business end of the campaign.

So, even the most optimistic of North London locals in tonight have barely cracked a smile at reports from the Daily Mail.

They claim that the club are free to sign Julian Draxler for £52m this summer, after the World Cup winning forward informed Wolfsburg he wanted to leave.

Now, being linked with a forward of that calibre may not seem like the worst thing in the world for a club who’ve often been lamented for their lack of activity on the transfer front.

Still, the 22-year old has long been linked with a move to the Emirates, with a move never coming off and further reports linking the German with a switch have brought up bad memories.

Besides, is he even the forward Arsenal so desperately need?
