With Arsenal desperately searching for both a striker and defender in equal measure, the Gunners propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern are delighted to hear about reports emanating out of Italy.
According to Gazzetta World, the North London giants are prepared to pay big money for Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi, in order to get him to spearhead a potential title surge.
Further good news has come as the same report claims Arsene Wenger is ready to swap Olivier Giroud for the Argentina international.
While the latter has proved to be a decent enough striker for the club, he has often cast a divisive shadow at the Emirates Stadium, with many believing he is not good enough to win the club a league.
Though Icardi has been through controversial patches with the Nerazzurri, there’s little doubt the 23-year old is one of the top prospects in the European game.
Would Icardi for Giroud be a good swap? Is the Argentine too hot headed? Let us know below…
