The build up for tomorrow’s FA Cup final is making for some nervous faces amongst the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern, who know salvaging anything from their season relies on a Wembley win.
For the first time in almost twenty years, the Gunners propping up the bar won’t be able to watch their side in Champions League action next term, but beating bitter rivals Chelsea in the final would at least give them something shout about.
So, reports from the Daily Mirror suggesting Arsene Wenger could yet have more injury concern hasn’t gone down well at all. They claim Shkodran Mustafi could add to the growing injury concerns in central defence.
Gabriel is already out of action, while Laurent Koscielny will be suspended for the final, so the idea of losing the German too is a very scary one indeed.
Mustafi himself is understood to be confident in playing, though FA guidelines in regards to concussion could rule him out. The World Cup winner suffered a head injury last Tuesday against Sunderland and has subsequently missed training all week.
There is reportedly a growing fear he could miss out as he’s running out of time, with our resident Gooners desperately hoping he’s available.
