The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern who’d been hoping to see a master marquee marksman arrive at the Emirates Stadium over the summer have so far been impressed by Theo Walcott.
Though the England international has had a few false dawns over the course of his decade in north London, he’s been in fine fettle of late.
Meanwhile, another striker employed the Gunners could well be on his way out of the club.
According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, French side Saint-Etienne are casting keen eyes over the situation of Yaya Sanogo.
After arriving at the club as a teenager, the 23-year-old has failed to develop as hoped amid a raft of loan spells to the likes of Ajax, Crystal Palace and Charlton Atheltic.
For the north London locals propping up the bar, the former French U21 international would not represent a big loss to Arsene Wenger’s ranks, with these reports being met with shrugged shoulders.
How much of a flop has Sanogo been? Let us know below…
