Arsenal could find Koscielny’s heir with move for £16.2m-rated Ligue 1 lynchpin this summer

The Arsenal fans are fed up of losing in the Transfer Tavern and they just want a new manager to arrive and inspire the players to greatness once again.

That is definitely no easy task and one which Arsene Wenger’s successor will find particularly hard we’re sure. The major downfall for the Gunners this season has been their defence and that is something that immediately needs addressing this summer. Our punters are 100% in agreement that following the success of French players at the Emirates over the years, PSG’s Presnel Kimpembe, who is valued at £16.2 million on Transfermarkt, would make a fine addition in helping to re-stabilise their defensive unit.

The 22-year-old centre-back has made his way up through the ranks at PSG, which is certainly a rarity in itself considering the money that the French champions continuously plough into the club. Having made 36 appearances this season, Kimpembe has proven in a number of those games why a lot of European sides will surely be after him this summer. His composure on the ball is fantastic and his tackling is even better, so the Frenchman certainly has the ability to massively improve Arsenal’s defence this summer should they pursue his signature.

The rebuild simply has to happen at Arsenal following the second year in a row that the Gunners have failed to qualify for the Champions League, a competition that a huge club like Arsenal should most definitely be involved in. Presnel Kimpembe would be a big statement towards their ambitions next season and furthermore could even be a figure in the Gunners defence for years to come, taking the armband from current French centre-back Laurent Koscielny.
