Arsenal could upset Chelsea plans with swoop hijacking – Report

Arsenal fans here in the Tavern are preparing for the worst as they go on in search of a possible new manager, with Arsene Wenger’s future at the Emirates looking far from certain.

Indeed, the Gunners have encountered some of the most difficult times that the Emirates has ever experienced at times this season, as manager Arsene Wenger’s job continues to be surrounded with uncertainty. Of course, after failing to secure Champions League football last season it was always going to be a difficult thing to take for fans that have been accustomed to top-four finishes in the past, as another campaign heading for the Europa League looks to have the Frenchman’s job under scrutiny. Indeed, according to reports in the Mail Online, Arsenal are attempting to hijack Chelsea target Luis Enrique.

The former Barcelona manager has been out of job since the end of last season, as Arsenal now line-up a bid to bring the Spaniard to North London. Indeed, it’s believed that the Gunners are going to relieve manager Arsene Wenger of his job sooner than expected, which clears the way for Enrique to be a possible replacement at the club.

Of course, with the tiki-taka style of passing that the Gunners love to promote at the Emirate Stadium, it’s clear that the 47-year-old would fit the mould after producing some of the best passing performances with Barcelona during his time at the Nou Camp. And, with the Frenchman not sharing the best of relationships with fans, an overdue change could bring Arsenal the success that they’ve gone without in years gone by.

Landlord’s Verdict:

Luis Enrique is a manager who proved his worth during his time over in Spain, with a switch to the Premier League providing a great opportunity for the former Barcelona boss to bring his style to England. Indeed, the Gunners are due a managerial change after falling to the Europa League for the first time under Wenger, and the Spaniard’s style of play is something that could bring huge success to the Emirates in a team based around passing.
