Arsenal dealt huge double blow in pursuit of lethal striking assassin

Gunners fans are not having a good window, once again. Our bar staff at the Football Transfer Tavern are hammered with complaints from Gooners forever frustrated by their dismal performances when it comes to landing big deals, and it might just get worse.

Arsenal are in need of a striker (as usual) and have been strongly linked with a move for Lyon striker, Alexandre Lacazette.

However, Gunners boss – Arsene Wenger – has been dealt a huge double blow in his attempt to bring the French international to the Premier League.

Speaking to France Football (via Sport Witness), the Lyon manager, Bruno Génésio, almost laughed off suggestions that the 25-year-old could leave this summer, showing his confidence in the owner to reject any approaches from North London, simply stating:  “That won’t happen.”

As well as this, according to reports from The Sun, last season’s Ligue 1 runners up are planning to offer the sought after forward a record breaking new deal to make him the highest paid Ligue 1 player in history and deter interest from potential suitors.

Gunners fans, we want to hear from you! It just gets worse doesn’t it? Do you think Lacazette will be an Arsenal player come September? Let us know in the comments below…
