Arsenal desperately lack creativity but Emery swoop for £18m-rated ace would help

The Arsenal fans gathered around the Transfer Tavern are delighted to have seen Unai Emery make a quick start to life at the Emirates as three new signings have already joined the club.

As Sokratis, Leno and Lichtsteiner have all arrived at the Emirates, fans are more optimistic now that next season can be a memorable one as the first without Arsene Wenger as boss. Our punters don’t think those three signings alone are quite enough but the addition of Leandro Paredes as well would add quality and extra quality in a midfield that now lacks creativity without Jack Wilshere.

The Argentinian defensive midfielder is valued at £18 million on Transfermarkt and having only joined Zenit last summer, that should have been enough time for the Gunners to assess his magnificent talent. In his debut season for the Russian club, Paredes made 39 appearances, scoring 6 goals and creating 11 assists for his team-mates in all competitions, a hell of a record for a player that predominately plays as a defensive midfielder.

Arsenal have been crying out for a top midfield talent for years now but after letting their two creative midfield sources leave the club in Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere, Leandro Paredes has to be the man they eye as a top replacement.

Unai Emery will be hopeful of adding more and more quality to his Arsenal side in the hope he can do what Arsene Wenger failed to do in his last two seasons with the club and that is qualify for the Champions League. The added injection of quality if the Gunners signed Leandro Paredes would really help that ambition and Arsenal should do everything they can to bring him to London.
