Arsenal enter mammoth talks with in-demand defender, Wenger rocks Euro giants

While the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are understandably more concerned about new arrivals, the punters in this evening have received some good news. 

According to Spanish outlet Sport, the Gunners are ready to open talks with star defender Hector Bellerin over a new deal with the club.

Since emerging as a first-team star, the speedy Spaniard has been linked with blockbuster moves to both Barcelona and Manchester City in recent months.

However, the 21-year old is undoubtedly a major player at the Emirates Stadium and Arsene Wenger has reportedly made moves to keep him in North London.

Initial discussions between the Gunners’ trop brass the player’s representatives are believed to have been held, with a view to improving his current deal with the club.

His current contract does not expire until 2016, though the Premier League giants are understood to want to extend that by a further two years in order to ward off potential interest from elsewhere.
