Arsenal punters in the Transfer Tavern are hoping our landlord can fill them in on Malaga midfielder Pablo Fornals, who has been linked with the north London club.
Our landlord isn’t too clued up on the 21-year-old either, but Mirror Football claim Arsenal are interested in his services as the summer transfer window draws near.
Fornals’ reputation in Spain is certainly growing. He earned his first senior cap in May last year as La Roja prepared for Euro 2016 and has played a key role in the Malaga first-team this season, producing five goals and two assists from 26 La Liga appearances.
The youngster has also averaged 2.1 tackles, 1.4 interceptions, 1.3 shots and 1.2 key passes per match this term, highlighting his impressive all-round game and ability to play in a number of different midfield roles – including on the right wing, at No.10 and in the heart of the engine room.
Arsenal could undergo a bit of a revamp in midfield this summer, with Jack Wilshere’s future uncertain as his contract situation rumbles on and the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Granit Xhaka, Francis Coquelin and Mohamed Elneny struggling to perform to the levels expected.
No potential transfer fee is mentioned by Mirror Football, but Transfermarkt rate him at just £4.25million.
