Our Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern aren’t feeling too festive right now thanks to their latest losses but could be about to get a welcome boost according to The Mirror.
The Gunners lost to both Everton and Manchester City 2-1 over the last week or so and many have begun to wonder whether they are strong enough to challenge for the title once again this year.
Certainly, that thought has crossed the supporters of the Emirates side’s minds here by the bar but our landlord thinks the reported interest in Valencia’s Jose Gaya might fix such issues from next season.
One of the Gunners’ weakest links has to be Nacho Monreal at left back and so to see the club linked with one of the brightest young La Liga stars with the view to bring him in next year has to be a positive.
With the men from Mestalla struggling this season in Spain, the young defender could want to move away, too, and our landlord thinks he’d be the ideal person to help the Gunners challenge for the title if the deal goes through next summer.
