Loads of Arsenal fans are debating Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain after a Twitter post from AFTV asked supporters if they were gutted about not seeing the best of him.
‘The Ox’ made 198 appearances for the north London club in all competitions, scoring 20 goals and providing 32 assists, according to Transfermarkt. He has since moved to Liverpool where he has played 78 matches in all competitions, scoring 12 goals and providing nine assists, as well as winning the Champions League, as per Transfermarkt.
The former Gunners player interestingly has averaged more shots per game (SpG) than Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in European competition this season. The 26-year old averaged 2.6 SpG in the Champions League and ‘Auba’ 2.5 in the Europa League, as per Whoscored.
Considering Oxlade-Chamberlain plays in central midfield and Aubameyang up front, this is relatively impressive, not to mention the difference in difficulty between the two tournaments.
Nevertheless, the Englishman still sparked a debate between Gooners and it seems as if supporters are split over his departure, as one fan called the deal to sell him for £35m ‘unreal’ while another said he is ‘constantly injured’:
No we got 40 mil for him

Amazing price for a constantly injured, inconsistent player with a year on his contract
He’s a talent no doubt though, just apart from a few good games now & again I can’t see him fulfilling it

He’s a bang average midfielder who can have a class game 1 in 10. The fact we got 40mil for him is unreal.

I think we did. He was hugely overrated.

Don’t think there is “the best” of ox tbh.

Nope, he’s a snake. No Loyalty a tiny bit!!

Leaving Arsenal was the best decision of his entire career 🚶

Not really. Talented player but extremely injury prone. Deal worked out for both parties IMO
